Fully qualified and Gas Safe Registered, we professionally install gas boilers, central heating controls, radiators, gas fires & gas cookers. We offer a free quotation service, which involves a visit from one of our engineers, who will carry out a bespoke survey.
Whether you are thinking of replacing your old boiler with a new, more efficient model, or upgrading your system controls, we can provide a no-obligation quotation. Our engineers can advise on which of the new generation boilers & controls would best suit your demands for heating and hot water.
Older type boilers tend to waste a lot of valuable energy, with many converting as little as 60% of your expensive gas into useful heat. By comparison a condensing boiler from Gasco can increase efficiency to produce a conversion rate of up to 98%. We install high quality, energy efficient, SEDBUK A rated condensing boilers.
Installing a new boiler or heating system is one of the biggest investments you will make in your home. We can be at hand to offer you a safe, professional, & friendly service from the very first survey visit, through to the final installation.

Q: Does Gasco install condensing boilers?
A: Yes. As Worcester Bosch Accredited Installers, Gasco install a range of their Greenstar
condensing boilers.
Q: Does Gasco use their own engineers to carry out installation work?
A: Yes, all Gasco engineers are qualified to latest industry standards & will carry out the
installation work on your gas appliance(s).
Q: What is a condensing boiler?
A: In a conventional boiler, fuel is burned and the hot gases produced are passed through a heat
exchanger where most of the heat is transferred to water. This, in turn raises the water
temperature which is then used to produce your heating & domestic hot water.
Once the usable heat has been extracted, the remaining hot gases are then fed to the flue
& expelled into the atmosphere at temperatures up to180°C.
Fundamentally, a condensing boiler works in much the same way. The hot gases are passed
through a heat exchanger & the usable heat is transferred to the water, raising its temperature
which is then used to produce your heating & domestic hot water. The difference with a
condensing boiler is that the remaining hot gases are not wasted into the atmosphere
through the flue. Instead, they are passed through a larger heat exchanger (sometimes two)
which extracts further useful heat which contributes to heating & domestic hot water output.
This result of this process means that the hot gases are cooled, & are expelled into the
atmosphere via the flue at about 55°C. One of the hot gases produced in the combustion
process is water vapour (steam), a by-product of burning the hydrogen content of the fuel.
As the condensing boiler extracts the latent heat from the exhaust gases, the water vapour
loses its heat content & condenses to form water droplets.
The condensate is collected in a trap, built into the boiler and is emptied automatically once full.
this condensate waste is then fed to a nearby storm water drain point. .
Q: Why are condensing boilers greener?
A: A condensing boiler will utilise a higher percentage of the heat that it generates from burning
fuels such as gas or oil. A conventional boiler, on the other hand, wastes a large proportion
of the heat it generates into the atmosphere.
A condensing boiler will recover most of the waste exhaust gases & extract the heat. This heat
is transferred to the returning water from your central heating system, so less heat is required
from the burner. This means that less gas is used.
Q: What is a combi boiler?
A: A combi (short for combination) boiler provides heating & domestic hot water directly from the
boiler. This means there is no need for hot water storage.

Q: What is a regular boiler?
A: Regular boilers heat your central heating system directly and produce hot water for your
cylinder.
(See Worcester Bosch House REGULAR Illustration right)
Q: What is a system boiler?
A: A system boiler, just like a regular (conventional) boiler works on the principal of stored
hot water. However, a system boiler differs from a regular boiler in some important
respects. Firstly, many of the major individual components of the heating and hot water
system are built into a system boiler, which means that installation is quicker, neater &
more efficient. Secondly, the hot water is pumped from the system boiler through
the heating system to the radiators and hot water cylinder, resulting in a fast response
and more economical running costs.

Q: What guarantee do I have with my new boiler?
A: As Worcester Bosch Accredited Installers, Gasco can offer you a manufacturer's
5 year parts & labour warranty. The heat exchanger fitted to the boiler carries a
10 year manufacturers warranty.
Q: Can I claim any grant aid toward installing a new boiler?
A: Not at present. The Warm Front scheme has been discontinued by the Government.
